The RNIB PenFriend is a simple and easy-to-use labelling pen that enables you to record your own self adhesive voice label on a wide range of items in and around the home, at school and at work.

Note to existing PenFriend users - these labels are slightly different to the standard PenFriend labels. The material is thicker, and the labels are die-cut meaning that the excess labelling material surrounding individual labels has been left in place. You will need to locate the edge of the label that you want to use, remove it from the backing sheet and attach to your clothing
before recording.

I have put things through the wash and dryer on a number of times and on checking the tag, the PenFriend reads it as clear as when I recorded them. They are great for identifying items of clothing, linen, towels or colour range as well as giving washing instructions, and they can also go in the tumble dryer which makes them really helpful.

I also use them on the label of plastic containers in the freezer - I just take the PenFriend over and it reads back to me what the item is and the date I put it in there. I also use it in the greenhouse on plant labels as I do a lot of propagating. It's made such a difference as I don't have to keep asking my partner what things are. And you can use the labels as many times as you want as you can re-record each time.
