One of our most popular resources, the Sight Loss Data Tool, offers a great collection of information on eye health and sight loss at local and national levels. Version 3 of the tool was updated at the start of July. We ensure regular updates to give users the most relevant evidence when it becomes available.

The update includes new CVI data and ophthalmology appointment numbers for Wales; updated ECLO location data for England NHS Trusts; blue badge data for people registered blind in England and more detailed data for dual sensory loss including registrations and the prevalence of severe dual sensory loss.

The next update is due in October and will be more comprehensive. It will include new estimates for the number of people living with sight loss in the UK in 2016, based on findings from a brand new study which will mean some of our key stats will be changing. Keep posted for more details in the Autumn.
