1,595 downloads of PAS 78 in one week of it becoming free

The decision to make PAS 78 free is obviously paying off as Out-Law reports that downloads have tripled in one week after it is made available for free. It’s great to see that the move to make it free has widened readership and will help more people to deploy accessible websites.

Web Accessibility Toolbar SE 1.2: Swedish language version now available

News just in from Steve Faulkner, from Vision Australia, the people behind the Web Accessibility Toolbar.

Peter Krantz has collaborated with the Web Accessibility Tools Consortium to develop a Swedish language version of the Web Accessibility Toolbar 1.2

Many thanks to Peter who is an active Web Standards and Accessibility advocate and, amongst other things, he has developed a Screen Reader
emulator- Fangs
and has two web sites that provide useful resources for web developers: Standards Shmandards and peterkrantz.com

The Web Accessibility Toolbar is now available in a total of 13 languages including: English, Portuguese (Brazilian), Danish, Dutch, German, Korean, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Swedish, traditional Chinese and simplified Chinese.
