Our server has stopped talking to the Akismet server again, with the result that comment spam is once more getting through. We’ve put in an urgent request to our IT people to reset it, and in the meantime have switched to moderated comments so that it’s only us who have to deal with the stuff, and not everyone who either takes the feed from this blog or reads it.
Hopefully, things should be back to normal service shortly.

since you’re on a wordpress blog, have you considered using Spam Karma 2 as well? This is particularly good at picking out spams which Akismet misses, although you might want to tweak the settings so it doesn’t think people are nasty if they don’t have javscript enabled and so on.
Well worth a look, and would possibly save you needing to moderate every last one.
