Hi Jack,

Had I known you were near Newcastle I would have popped by to say hello over a coffee or beer. Definitely next time. In fact we may be there in February delivering web accessibility training courses so perhaps we can hook up then.

Hi Jack, We did have the WordPress filters in place, but at some point their server address apparently changed, and the new one wasn't on our server's white-list. So we seem to have been bouncing the filter and keeping the spam. All fixed now.

You're sure to get another chance to meet at least some of us soon. We'll try to make sure that visits to Tyneside get an extra blogging.

Since your WAC Blog appears to be powered by wordpress, have you considered the Akismet comment spam filter plug-in, and the Bad Behaviour plug-in for WP?

Since using both of these, I've found no comment spam has actually made it through to my site (and I check my comments feed regularly), but it's catching spam regularly (20+ comments some days, but I imagine your site is more popular than mine. Which is wrong, obviously, but there's no accounting for taste).

Oh, and I'd just like to add that I'm very disappointed to have missed Henny when she was up in my neck of the woods (Gateshead). It's always nice to actually meet "online people" in real life... next time there's anyone up on Tyneside, make sure you tell me, ok?
