About Techshare
Summary: Find out about RNIB's international technology conference - Techshare.
What is Techshare?
The Techshare conference highlights the role of technology in the everyday life of people with disabilities. Techshare 2007 will be held on 4-5 October at Novotel London West, London, UK. With Pre-conference workshops held at the same venue on 3 October.
The conference is aimed at professionals who work in the disability field, or have an interest in technology. Packed with presentations and workshops, Techshare is a fantastic opportunity to meet with experts and other professionals in your field.
Techshare has in the past been an event just for those interested in technology and sight loss, but for 2007 we are broadening out the event to cover all disabilities.
Presentations
There are always presentations on a wide range of subjects, from the internet to e-learning, user experiences of technology, technical advances in technology, e-books and more. The conference likes to offer introductions to aspects of technology alongside case studies, good practice and cutting edge developments. Speakers come to Techshare from all over the world, so it is a great way to get up-to-date on what is happening in this area.
Key speakers
The conference always attracts interesting key speakers and in the past we have had speakers from Microsoft, Adobe, American Federation of the Blind and American Council for the Blind. Other various Government ministers and celebrities like Jeremy Paxman alongside those respected in the field of technology like Judy Brewer, BT’s Futurologist Ian Pearson and Prof Heinz Wolff.
