A description of the RNIB logo
Summary: An explanation of what the new RNIB logo looks like.

The new logo consists of the capital letters RNIB contained within a rectangular block of single colour. It retains RNIB’s blue-green colour to make the most of the existing recognition and good reputation.
The top left-hand and bottom right-hand corners of the rectangular logo shape are curved and the other corners are right angles. The typeface used for the letters RNIB is a modern, clean, simple typeface that was originally designed for use on road signs, where legibility was key. To echo the design of the surrounding block some of the edges of the letters have also been softened with curves. This gives the logo a subtle sense of movement, reflects the new open, friendly and approachable RNIB brand positioning and adds character to the logo without making it fussy.

Logos for each of the UK countries have also been developed and all four logos are clearly part of one family. The name of the UK country is integral to the logo, appearing inside the turquoise lozenge, immediately underneath the letters, RNIB. The strapline “supporting blind and partially sighted people” remains the same for all the logos. For RNIB Cymru the strapline has been translated into Welsh and appears in both languages to the right of the lozenge.

Jill's story - Jill lost her sight 12 years ago at the age of 19. “The experience left me feeling isolated. I often felt like my life was pointless." Now, as a presenter on Insight Radio, she uses her experiences to help others. “My prayer is that what we do helps those who are going through sight loss. Even the tiniest piece of information can make a huge difference. If my show can help do that, then my journey has not been in vain.” Jill's full story
