Welcome to our portfolio of training and development opportunities for the health and social care sector for 2009. These key events and courses are available across the UK.
Our training aims to develop the knowledge, skills and understanding of professionals working in rehabilitation, health and social care. It promotes best practice in meeting the needs of people who are blind or partially sighted, including those with additional disabilities or health conditions.
Where applicable, our courses are aligned to standards of relevant National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) and post qualifying awards. In addition to these core standards our courses will also enable your staff to meet a range of specific National Occupational Standards for Sensory Services. We can customise content and delivery to ensure your workforce acquires required standards of competence.
All of the training events can be delivered in-house, providing a cost effective way to develop your team or organisation.
Some of the training will be available as open events in RNIB group and country offices.
We can also provide customised training to suit the specific needs of your service or agency. Please contact us to discuss your requirements

How we can continue to support you
Our specialist team has a wealth of experience of working within health and social care settings. Within the team we have a broad range of complementary skills and knowledge that enable us to provide customised service development approaches to support you in improving services for people who are blind and partially sighted.
For example, we can support you with small scale learning sets or larger regional networks, where you can talk directly to blind and partially sighted people and share examples of good practice and current research.
Our main fields of specialism include health, particularly long term conditions, social care services, rehabilitation, low vision, older people and eye clinic liaison services.
A charge may be made for this service.
