Having a sight problem shouldn't be a barrier to learning. We work to ensure that blind and partially sighted children and adults gain get the best out of school and college.

Supporting children through school

• For parents and carers, read about supporting blind and partially sighted children at early years, primary and secondary level, including children with complex needs.
• Our schools and colleges offer specialist provision for children and young people with sight loss.
• Our music advisory service organises events and supports young people learning music.
• Insight magazine is for parents of children and young people with sight problems.

Students and adult learners

• Our student message board is a supportive community of students across the UK.
• The student site has facts and advice about student life.
• See adult education for information about returning to learning after sight loss.

Supporting education professionals

• Curriculum Clipboard is for people working with blind and partially sighted learners under the age of 18.
• Books for Professionals has a newsletter and guides for professionals, including on education.
• We support providers of PCET (Post-Compulsory Education and Training) with training, advice and information.
• We offer a programme of training courses for education professionals.
• Insight magazine is for professionals who support children with sight problems. It includes "Curriculum Bitesize", a termly supplement for teachers.

Products and publications

• The RNIB National Library Service can help with finding books in braille, audio CD and other formats.
• The 'Ways of reading' leaflet is designed to help you find reading materials in accessible formats for children of all ages.
• With more that 17,000 customers, our Online Shop is the UK's leading supplier of products for people with sight problems and we have products for learners of all ages.
• If you teach braille or wish to learn braille we have a range of resources available to help with reading, writing and learning braille.
