Grants from statutory and other bodies
RNIB’s Helpline can advise you on entitlements to statutory grant schemes such as Disabled Facilities Grants and the Social Fund. We can also provide information about general charities for people in need.
If you have any grant enquiries or would like to request any of our information in another format (large print, braille or audio), please phone the RNIB Helpline on 0303 123 9999 or email helpline@rnib.org.uk.
If you are the parent of a child with a sight problem, our information on grants and allowances for children and families may also be useful.

Jenny's story - Jenny Burgess volunteered for a disability support group run by people with physical disabilities. She was the only staff member with a sight problem. “I depended on a colleague with physical disabilities to give me a lift to work. I have far greater mobility problems than most people with physical disabilities who can drive a car, yet receive less benefit - it’s unfair and unjust.” Join our campaign to make the mobility component of the Disability Living Allowance fair - taken for a ride.
