RNIB offers Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA) needs assessments throughout the country at our regional centres.
We now have a newly registered centre at RNIB's London office. We will be audited for final accreditation of the centre in October 2008. We offer assessments and training on special equipment to all students and prospective students who qualify for the DSA, whatever their disability.
About our Assessment Centre
Our dedicated assessment room is equipped with the latest specialist equipment and technology. Our staff will guide you through the assessment and any training you need.
The centre was registered in June 2008 by the Disabled Student Allowance Quality Assurance Group, which means that our centre will be regularly audited to ensure our service is timely, effective and meets the needs of students.
What is a DSA assessment? Who are they for?
If you are disabled and a student, or applying to study, you may be able to receive a Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA). This is a grant towards the cost of special equipment and other support you need for your course.
When you have successfully applied for a DSA, you will need to arrange to have an assessment, which will identify your study needs.

We assess your needs for the course you're taking, and can train you in using specialist equipment once the funding bodies have permitted you to have it.
