About Stuart, RNIB's Music Technology Officer
Stuart Thomas, our Music Technology Officer, introduces himself and describes his background.
"In my role at RNIB, I use my knowledge and experience to solve common problems faced by people with sight problems who work with music technology.
I've worked in the pro audio and music recording industry for about 17 years as a Technical Manager in music recording studios, as well as having my own business supporting people with the installation, technical support and training of music technology."
What the Music Technology Officer does
Supporting clients
The Music Advisory Service (MAS) supports musicians in a variety of ways, including technology. The Music Technology Officer gives musicians information and advice about many different areas and styles of music production, as well as training in the use of music technology.
He also offers help and training to students in education, people who work in music-related jobs, and people who just make music for pleasure.

RNIB keeps an ongoing record of accessible music technology equipment. If you use accessible equipment and software, we want to hear from you. If you would like to tell us about a piece of gear that you find accessible, please contact us.
Working with software producers
We also work closely with companies and individuals that produce equipment and software packages. RNIB can offer advice on making products accessible and the integration of Access Technology. We can also help with evaluation of current packages.
