Summer Reading Challenge 2008
Summary: Details of this years challenge
RNIB National Library Service is once again providing an opportunity for young readers with sight loss to take part in the annual Summer Reading Challenge.
During the school summer holidays, children borrow six books from their local library and get a sticker each time they return a finished book. If they read all six they receive a medal and certificate.
RNIB National Library Service has teamed up with The Reading Agency to provide public libraries with Summer Reading Challenge packs in large print, including folder, stickers, and certificate.
- The theme this year is Sport in keeping with August's theme for 2008 National Year of Reading which is called 'Read the Game'.
- Blind and partially sighted children can take part by borrowing recommended sporty books from the RNIB National Library Service in giant print, braille and audio. They can then join in with fun reading activities in their local library with their friends.
- Download our Team Reads booklist (Word) and put yourself to the test. Can you rise to the Summer Reading Challenge?
