Be a stamp collector for a good cause

If you, your business or your organisation, receive cards and letters through the post, could you save the stamps to send to us? We'll turn them into funds to help people living with sight loss.

We raise £20 for every kilogramme of stamps we receive.

Stamps are sold by weight, so whatever you can send will add up to much-needed funds for our services. We accept all stamps: new or used, first or second class, foreign, first day covers, presentation packs or albums.

How to send us your stamps

Sending your stamps to RNIB couldn't be easier!

Please ensure stamps are trimmed with approximately one centimetre of paper around the edge, with no large gold Post Office labels or pre-printed postage marks - these have no value to RNIB.

Stamps don't need to be thoroughly sorted, but if possible, please separate them into British and Overseas (Channel Islands and Isle of Man count as foreign).

Send your stamps with a prepaid label

  1. Download and print our prepaid label and instructions (PDF)
  2. Attach the label to your own blank envelope(s) of any size (up to a maximum of A4 size).
  3. Fill the envelope with used postage stamps up to a maximum weight of 1kg (evenly distributed). This can include loose stamps, first day covers and even sheets of stamps. Please follow the instructions in the checklist at the bottom of this page.
  4. Complete and include the accompanying form in your envelope to enable us to thank you for your donation.
  5. Pop the envelope in a post box or drop it off at a post office.

Posting without our prepaid label

If you do not have access to a printer, you can still use your own envelope to send your stamps to us without the label, as long as you are happy to pay for the cost of postage yourself. Clearly write the following address on your envelope and add the appropriate postage (please refer to Royal Mail for the latest size, weight and cost of postage guidance):

RNIB
Xchange Master Ltd
Unit B, 24 Rosyth Road
Glasgow
G5 0YD

Please also include a note in your envelope with your name and email address to enable us to thank you for your donation.

Alternatively, if you require a prepaid envelope to be sent out to you, please complete the request form, or call our team on 0330 002 0051 (Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm) or email [email protected].

Envelopes will be processed and shipped to you within approximately 14 working days

If you require more than 10 x A4 envelopes, have full albums of stamps, or have a rapidly building collection, you may wish to consider ordering a bulk box (by using the same order form).

If you have any questions regarding stamps, please contact our stamp partner, Xchange Master, by emailing [email protected] or calling 01413 289357. Please only use these contact details for stamp queries.

Get everyone involved

Saving stamps is an easy way to support us at home, work, or in your local community. You can request a handy little collection box for your office reception, school or local community centre. We've put together a question and answer document and some posters so you can get your friends, family and work colleagues involved too:

Old and foreign currency

You can also support RNIB by donating disused or foreign money.
If you have any surplus foreign currency from overseas trips, or any unusable old British currency hiding at the back of the drawer, we’d love to receive it!
