Research and Evaluation Assistant

Do you want to develop your research and data analysis skills and gain experience of working in a large national charity?

We are looking for someone to support us with the data analysis and communication of findings from our volunteer pulse surveys which seek feedback into the volunteering experience at RNIB. You will be analysing quantitative data and writing engaging reports to share with the team. Ideally, you will have previous experience of analysing data.

This is a flexible role but we would like you to have some availability on weekdays between 9-5.

How often will I be needed? 14 hours Per Month

Cover Telephone Group Facilitator

Are you a good listener? Are you able to manage group conversations and ensure people feel comfortable together and that groups run smoothly? We need you to facilitate our Talk and Support weekly telephone groups that offer blind and partially sighted people the opportunity to socialise with others when the regular group facilitator is unavailable.

This is a telephone-based role that you can do from home. You will need access to a landline and/or mobile phone We ask you to commit to covering up to 3 groups per week, although this will vary on a week by week basis. Each group you cover will last for one hour.

Café Volunteer

We are looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers to assist in the running of our Community Café and drop in centre for blind and partially sighted people. We require help in the kitchen, preparing food, cleaning and waiting on tables.

A passion for cooking is desirable but not essential. Experience in cash handling and how to use a cash register would be advantageous. Our aim is to move to a contactless process but we're not at that point yet.

The café is in the process of reopening after Covid 19, initially on a part-time basis, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 11am until 3pm.

How often will I be needed? 4 hours Per Week

Volunteer Engagement Facilitator

The aim of this role is to support with the facilitation, planning and delivery of Volunteer Engagement sessions within RNIB. If you are already an RNIB volunteer and would like to reach out to others in different roles/locations and share experience, learning and have some social time too, then this role offers the opportunity to support with planning sessions to do all of these things.

Sessions will take place on evenings/weekend 2/3 times per year and will be 1 hour long.

How often will I be needed? 15 hours Per Year

Retail Products Admin Volunteer

Are you organised and customer focused with administrative experience? Do you have an eye for detail and are able to write clear succinct notes? RNIB Retail Products Team needs help to support our sales orders and product returns process for customers. You’ll be tracking returns due into our warehouse and following-up with customers if we’ve not received the goods; confirming they’ve been posted, if the customer decided to keep the item, or if a ‘lost in post’ claim needs to be made.

Occasional Helper

This flexible opportunity puts you at the heart of supporting blind and partially sighted people in your area. You could help with:

* Assisting groups of blind and partially sighted people;
* Awareness-raising and campaigning on issues that affect those living with little or no sight;
* fundraising so we can continue to offer our amazing services and tackle social injustice.

Whether its cheering at a challenge event, helping at an information stand or store collection, welcoming guests at an event, or something else, you can choose to get involved based on your availability and interests.

Telephone Group Facilitator

Community Volunteer

Our amazing Community Volunteers play a key role in connecting blind and partially sighted people, awareness-raising, tackling barriers to independence and fundraising for our work.

Depending on your availability, training and interests, you will have the chance to take part in some or all of the following:

• help run events and regular groups
• give talks about sight loss, eye health, the work of RNIB and partners
• help with local campaigns
• organise fundraising events like store collections
• attend information stalls and cheque presentations, and
• make wellbeing calls to community members.

How often will I be needed? 4 hours Per Event

Community Lead Volunteer

Experienced volunteers who have taken on a leadership role, our Community Lead Volunteers bring people together, raise awareness, support other volunteers, tackle barriers to independence and fundraise for our work.

Depending on your availability, training and interests, you will have the chance to take part in some or all of the following:

• host events and regular groups
• give talks about sight loss, eye health, the work of RNIB and partners
• design and deliver local campaigns
• lead and train groups of volunteers
• organise fundraising events like store collections
• attend information stalls and cheque presentations, and
• make wellbeing calls to community members.

As a blind or partially sighted Community Lead Volunteer, you may have the opportunity to join one of our Community Action Groups, shaping activity in your local area. (Note: These Groups have no governance or resource authority within RNIB.)
