Our specialist Major Giving team is dedicated to helping you understand the impact your gift could make. A transformational gift can help to change the lives of thousands of blind and partially sighted adults and children, ensuring there are no barriers to a life with sight loss.
Below are some examples of how your donation can transform lives:
£5,000 brings the joy of reading through RNIB Talking Books to one hundred people.
£10,000 will enable one hundred people to use our Sight Loss Advice Service, providing access to vital information through our Telephone Helpline and online support.
£20,000 helps to cover the cost of transcribing, producing and distributing almost fifteen new titles from our own RNIB Children’s Book Wish List, all requested by our young customers themselves.
£35,000 will help fund one position for a Sight Loss Advisor, based across the UK, offering hope and practical support for recently diagnosed blind and partially sighted people
£50,000 will create a new Eye Clinic Liaison Officer post in a UK hospital eye clinic, offering much needed emotional and life-changing support right after a diagnosis.
£100,000 would ensure that over 300 people receive the necessary guidance to get back on the employment ladder and start to live more independently.
Together we can inspire and support people with sight loss and transform their lives, the community and ultimately society. With your donation, no one will be left behind.
There are a variety of ways that you can get involved.
The most effective and immediate way that you can support our work is by gifting by cheque or credit card. Gift Aid and Tax effective giving can provide additional benefits.
If you are a UK Tax Payer you can increase the value of your donations made through a personal cheque or credit card by at least 25 per cent, at no cost to yourself by allowing us to claim Gift Aid. If you are a higher rate taxpayer you can reclaim the difference between the basic rate of tax paid on your donation and the higher rate via your tax return, or you may wish to donate it back to RNIB by completing the information on your form.
Tax Effective donations
There are variousways that you can maximise your gift at no extra cost to yourself and enjoy certain tax benefits. An outright gift of assets can allow you to claim relief on Capital Gains Tax, for example, whilst gifts of shares or securities provide Income Tax Relief.
We hold a number of special events throughout the year, ranging from intimate dinners, to hosted visits of our services where you can see the impact of your support first-hand. Our Gala Dinner is a highlight of the charity calendar and has featured performances from artists such as Sir Rod Stewart and Sir Tom Jones.
