How you are helping
There’s a serious side to the party. Did you know that in the next 15 minutes, someone in the UK will be told: “You are losing your sight”?
Jacqueline from Hove, who had lost her sight to glaucoma a few years ago said: “I realised my eye sight wasn’t getting any better but the diagnosis took the wind out of my sails. You go through all these emotions with the loss of something."
"I owe a debt to RNIB for their wonderful advice and support – both emotionally and financially. They have been a tower of strength for me. I never realised you could be blind and looked after so well."
Jacqueline from Hove
Your support can help more blind and partially sighted people to face the future with confidence.
Lots of fun to have
Remember, it’s easy and fun to run a Tea for RNIB party! All you’ll need to do is invite your friends to your house, garden, street or anywhere else you fancy.
Here are few ideas to get your party going:
- Ask your guests to donate for a slice of cake and a cup of tea.
- Sell raffle tickets for donated prizes.
- Ask for donations to guess the number of sweets in a jar.
- Selling home crafts or yummy delights.
