Join RNIB for the biggest half marathon in the world and support our mission to ensure every hospital in the UK, not just 1 in 3, has a sight loss advisor, to make sure nobody is alone when they find out they are losing their sight.
Over 40,000 runners will take on the 13.1 mile half marathon route running through Newcastle city centre, over the iconic Tyne Bridge, where you might be lucky to catch a glimpse of the red arrows; then winding through Gateshead, cheered on by tens of thousands of supporters, and crossing the finishing by the beautiful South Shields coastline.
With live BBC coverage and some of the world’s top long-distance athletes participating; this is an unforgettable running event not to be missed.

Every 15 minutes someone loses their sight. However, right now many people receive no support at all when given this news. We want to change that. We’re on a mission to make sure every UK hospital has a dedicated Sight Loss Advisor. Your fundraising will help us be there when people need us most, as we grow our network of expert advisors and reach everyone who needs our emotional and practical support.
If you have any questions or would like more information, our events team would love to hear from you. Please complete this short form and we’ll be in touch. Or you can call us on 0345 345 0054 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm).
