RNIB Talking Books is celebrating its 80th birthday by making the service completely free for all blind and partially sighted children and adults in the UK. Every year RNIB Talking Books provides more than 1million audiobooks to people with sight loss.

The children and young people you support can choose from  over 2,500 fiction and non-fiction titles. Whether it’s the popular Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Horrid Henry books, young adult series like The Hunger Games or Twilight, or fun non-fiction  titles like Horrible Histories, there really is something for everyone.
Visit RNIB Library to browse the collection. Talking Books are available as digital downloads via RNIB Overdrive, as DAISY CD or on USB. Please note RNIB Overdrive is only available to young people aged 16+.
To borrow titles on behalf of a pupil, you request the titles in their name and add your details as a guarantor. Full details are provided when you register, and  you can also call our helpline on 0303 123 9999 for further guidance.

Learners can also access a music library including audio tuition CDs for musical instruments, large print sheet music and the largest collection of braille music scores in Europe. For more information or to request samples, please contact our Music Librarian on 01733 375105 or email [email protected]

Our Talking Books service is also working hard to make more titles available at the same time as the printed version is released. This means young blind and partially sighted people can enjoy more of the latest reads along with their sighted friends and family. Look out for Not If I See You First by Eric Lindstrom, due out in the New Year, which features a young blind character.
