MP for Manchester Central, Lucy Powell, visited her local rehabilitation service on 24 April in support of our Cut out of care campaign.
Rehabilitation offers people who have lost their sight help to regain the skills they need to carry out everyday tasks that others take for granted such as cooking a meal.
Ms Powell had the chance to talk to Rehabilitation Officers about what their role involves as well as speaking with a service user about her own experiences of sight loss and the importance of receiving support at the time of sight loss.
During her visit, Ms Powell also had the opportunity to try out some daily living aids and equipment. She was sympathetic to the issues we discussed and has agreed to raise our concerns with Care Minister Norman Lamb.
Thank you to Ms Powell for visiting the service.
