From January 2017, NB Online celebrates 100 years in circulation. This is a fantastic landmark achievement for RNIB but it wouldn’t have been possible without you, our readers.

Originally known as The Beacon, the publication mainly focused on soldiers blinded during World War One, although was devoted to the interests of all blind people.
Today, NB Online provides eye health and sight loss professionals with vital news, views, research and developments from the sector. Every two weeks, over 4,000 professionals including rehabilitation workers, social workers, care professionals, ophthalmic nurses, orthoptists, eye clinic liaison officers, local society staff and support groups receive NB Online’s eNewsletter. The eNews are packed full of the latest news, features and best practice guides to use and share at work.

“I’ve worked in the not-for-profit sector for the last five years in Marketing and PR roles. I’ve edited education and sight loss magazines before but this is my first role as Editor.
“NB is at its best when it promotes great shared practice and informs the eye health and sight loss sectors about the importance of working together to benefit people with sight loss.”

Rhadika Holmstrom is a regular contributor to NB Online

"I have been writing about eye health for RNIB over ten years and have learned so much about the eye health and sight loss sectors.  I also write for women’s magazines to specialist journals, on health, mental health, and disability issues."
