RNIB is contracted by Isle of Man Department of Health and Social Care to provide a Rehabilitation Service, a Low Vision Service and an Eye Clinic Liaison Officer (ECLO), located at Nobles Hospital Eye Clinic.
RNIB offers a diverse range of rehabilitation services from daily living skills, Visual Awareness Training, welfare entitlements to advice on the removal of physical barriers within the built environment to improve access for people with sight problems.
The Low Vision service provides the opportunity for people to have an assessment of their eyesight.
Low vision aids can be provided to help with tasks such as reading, watching television or finding your way around.
Our staff can provide expert advice on ways to get the best from your existing vision or advice on improving lighting levels within your home or elsewhere.
If you've recently been diagnosed with an eye condition or problems with your sight, our ECLOs are here to provide practical and emotional support.
This support can help you understand your diagnosis, begin to come to terms with your sight loss and help you maintain your independence.
Our ECLO can also advise on your rights and any welfare benefits you may be entitled to or recommend new products to help you live independently.
