RNIB is pleased to announce that the International Accessible Media Conference will be held in London UK, on May 23, 2019

The objective is to create a vibrant and useful forum for stakeholders to gather and discuss best practices on audio description, audio subtitles and universal design.

Key topics to include:

  • Quality of experience (content and access to content - bringing it all together)
  • Integrating Accessibility into the creative structure
  • How to deal with text on screen? Focus: Spoken Subtitles, AI and Synthetic Speech
  • Standards and Policy update
  • Achieving closer collaboration between providers for greater accessibility


Focus on ImAc

The conference will also include an update on the Immersive Accessibility Project that is funded by Horizon 2020 Programme of the European Commission. The Project aims to explore access needs of people with hearing and/or sight loss in relation to consuming media in 360-degree format and understand how traditional tools such as subtitles, sign language, audio description and audio subtitles can be adapted for this format.
