Every day in Scotland, 10 people begin to lose their sight – but only one in six will be offered support.
Without support people may lose confidence and find it difficult to cope, leading to isolation.
Our Eye Clinic Liaison Officer (ECLO) services in hospitals offer practical and emotional support to anyone affected by sight loss.
Whatever your condition or needs, you’re not alone. With our expert guidance, you can find ways to:
Maintain your independence
Better understand your eye condition and treatment
Apply for helpful benefits and concessions
Use technology to help you do the things you need to do
Stay in employment or education, or take up new opportunities
Continue enjoying leisure activities.
Update 6 April 2020: We are continuing to deliver our Eye Care Liaison Services in Scotland. Because of the uncertainty surrounding the Covid-19 virus, however, all of our Eye Clinic Liaison Officers (ECLOs) are working from home using fully secure laptop computers.
All of our Eye Clinic Liaison Officers are qualified and experienced, offering support to a recognised UK and agreed standard. They can be contacted for advice and support through our Helpline on 0303 123 9999 or [email protected].
