On September 7 we officially announced our three year partnership with Specsavers and launched the State of the Nation: Eye Health 2016 report at the House of Lords.
The event in Westminster was very well attended and feedback so far, suggests hugely successful. Hosted by Lord Low, guest speakers included Doug Perkins, co-founder of Specsavers, Lady Penny Lancaster-Stewart and Sally Harvey. Also in attendance was Rod Stewart, Dame Gail Ronson, leading figures from the optical, eye health and charitable sectors, and members of the Press.
Publicity surrounding the launch and the report has featured in Hello Magazine, the Sunday Telegraph, the Evening Times, the Scottish Sun, the Herald Scotland, Optometry today, Marketing Week and Association of British Dispensing Opticians.
Prevention is a key part of our five-year strategy and working with Specsavers will allow us to work towards our goal that ‘fewer people experience significant sight loss’. The report contains the data and insight that commissioners, policy makers, service providers and professionals working in the health, care and voluntary sectors need in order to make a difference
