Bryan McGlashan

Bryan talks about performing in front of former Prime Minister Gordon Brown and a piece of technology that changed his life.

I have been blind since birth and have had a lot of help from RNIB in both my working and social life. RNIB have employed me in several jobs, including as a receptionist. A piece of technology that has changed my life completely is my smartphone. I can’t live without it. There is so much I can do with technology, such as social media, including Facebook (what would I do without it?), finding directions for places, plus a whole host of other things. The main thing I’d like to talk about though is my singing. I have performed in front of numerous people, including Gordon Brown. I was asked to sing at RNIB’s 150th reception; it was an opportunity I couldn’t turn down, and I was only too happy to be part of this event. Let’s see RNIB continue its brilliant work.
