 David Quigley

David talks about his commitment to helping people with sight loss.

I was only too glad to assist when asked to join the Expert Advisory Group for the All Parliamentary Group on Eye Health.  I am committed to helping people with sight loss and have served two terms as an RNIB Trustee. Before retiring, I was the only registered blind executive director in the NHS. That says something about the barriers I came up against. After graduating from Magdalene College, Oxford, I worked in the NHS for 30 years. Cutting my teeth in acute hospital management, I concentrated on improving care pathways, performance and efficiency. I firmly believe that the needs of people with sight loss should lie at the centre of everything RNIB is doing in influencing wider society.
