Houses of Parliament

Richard talks about campaigning for blind and partially sighted people.

I have been interested in and fascinated by politics for as long as I’m willing to recall. Twenty years ago, I discovered it was possible to actually use this interest as a job to benefit blind and partially sighted people. I have always worked in a campaigning or parliamentary lobbying environment, so you can hopefully see how much I love what I do! The variety of work and the people I get to meet is crucial to how much I like my job and how much I’m willing to put into it. However, clearly the most important aspect is knowing that raising issues of concern for blind and partially people with decision makers improves the lives of my peers and myself. So in short; why do I love the role of Parliamentary Manager? It’s just too important to leave to someone else.
