As a newly registered visually impaired person, I am so grateful to RNIB. People told me how much help was out there, but I didn’t realise just how much. I’ve had telephone and email support from RNIB, which has been amazing, and has helped me enormously in making me realise that I am not alone. It’s been extremely helpful having RNIB as a point of reference to what is available out there for people with sight loss. Losing my sight took away my independence and my self-esteem. However, at the moment, I feel like there may in fact be a decent future ahead, and that things aren’t as bleak as I first imagined. Thank you so much.
