Sooty box collector

Our Sooty Boxes play a vital role in generating funds and raising the profile of RNIB. We need volunteers to collect and bank the donations received through boxes in your local area. This is a fun and rewarding role that takes your employees out into the community. It's completely flexible - your employees can give as little or as much time to it as they'd like, and can can choose the location and whether they'd like to do it as an individual, pair or group.

Tech hub support

Are members of your team comfortable explaining technology? We'd love for you and your colleagues to get involved in running a monthly tech hub at your office or in a nearby location, to support people with sight loss to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to use everyday technology and enjoy being online.

We'll provide all the support you and your team need, including an initial information session as well as additional learning about assistive and accessible technology.

Telephone group facilitator

We're looking for good listeners! Your employees will facilitate one of our weekly telephone groups that offer blind and partially sighted people the opportunity to socialise with others.

Each group runs for an hour and can be weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. This is a great opportunity for remote workers as it can be done from the comfort of the workplace or home office, and a group of employees can take turns to facilitate a weekly group.

Text preparer

Working individually or as a team, your employees will check and prepare scanned texts to help us transcribe books, periodicals, and study materials into an electronic format ready to produce large print, synthetic audio, braille or etext for a screen reader so that blind and partially sighted people have access to the information they need and enjoy.
