Are you friendly and reliable, with some time to spare? Would you enjoy meeting new people in your local area? You could provide a supportive, reliable relationship to people with acquired hearing and sight loss who may otherwise be socially isolated.
You will meet with a client on a regular basis, for a chat, to help with small tasks such as reading mail, or to help them get out and about.
Are you passionate about ensuring all learners get access to the same educational material, in a format they can read it in? If yes, this opportunity will see you volunteering with our Load2Learn service which provides educational resources to print disabled learners at all educational levels across the UK and internationally.
Are you able to offer practical administration support to the Health & Well Being Coordinator with the Living with Sight Loss course? Your admin skills, friendly manner and passion will support us to deliver an exciting course designed to help people who have recently being diagnosed with sight loss.
Do you enjoy meeting and helping people? Could you support blind and partially sighted people at our valuable "Looking Forward" peer support events and our other social events in the Edinburgh region? You would welcome participants, assist with mobility in and out of vehicles, offer sighted guiding and serve refreshments.
Do you enjoy driving and meeting people? Can you help us by driving blind and partially sighted people from their homes to various appointments, activities and services within the Tayside region?
Do you enjoy meeting and helping people? Could you support blind and partially sighted people at our valuable "Looking Forward" peer support events and our other social events in the Tayside region? You would welcome participants, assist with mobility in and out of vehicles, offer sighted guiding and serve refreshments.
Do you have good admin skills and a friendly telephone manner? We are looking for someone to help us organise an exciting programme of events and activities for children and young people who are blind or partially sighted. We need you to contact families and assist with general admin tasks.
Do you have skills and experience in finding employment? Could you help to facilitate our 5-day intensive pre-employment course? Your support and encouragement will enable people with sight loss to build confidence and gain the skills needed to get back into work.
The course is taking place from Monday 20th - Friday 24th April, with the opportunity to get involved in future sessions.
Do you enjoy meeting and helping people? Your friendly manner and tea and coffee making skills will support us to help blind and partially sighted people feel comfortable while they participate in an exciting course in March designed to help people who have recently been diagnosed with sight loss. You will be taking refreshment orders making and serving hot drinks and biscuits.
Could you spare a few hours now and again to support us at events to raise awareness of our services in the local area? You could help us to set up and man the stall and talk to people about what we do, meaning that more people with sight loss can benefit from our support. You could help out on National Eye Health week, giving out information helping us to reach out to more people.
