RNIB's Connect Facebook groups are a supportive space for people affected by sight loss to talk to others in a similar situation about topics that matter to them, ask questions and share tips and stories.

Whether you're blind or partially sighted, or are a family member or friend of someone who is, our community-led groups can provide a safe environment for you to talk openly.

Our Facebook groups have been arranged according to geographic region. Become part of a community united by shared experiences by joining one of our groups today:

  • East of England: including Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, Suffolk.

  • London, England: including City of London and the 32 Greater London boroughs.

  • Scotland

  • South East England: including Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, East Sussex, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Kent, Oxfordshire, Surrey, West Sussex.

Connect Voices network – get involved with RNIB’s work

Sight loss is unique to everyone and sharing your personal experience can really help us design better services and support. Our Connect Voices network offers you the chance to get involved with RNIB’s work and share your experiences. You could take part in surveys, help us test products and there may be opportunities from other organisations too. Join our Facebook group and get involved from the comfort of your own home.

More information

The majority of topics covered in the RNIB Facebook groups are started and led by community members. Each group has at least one RNIB staff member as a moderator. Staff moderators are supported by volunteers who assist in moderating the groups. The groups are actively moderated between 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday.

The players of the People's Postcode Lottery are helping fund the running of these groups. We're so grateful to everyone's support.

Please read our Online Community Engagement Policy (Word document) to find out more about our Facebook groups and how they are run.
