I am a qualified and experienced integrative counsellor, committed to providing a safe, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. I am a registered member of the BACP, who has been working in the field of health and wellbeing for over 20 years. My expertise focuses on supporting clients with anxiety and those who are experiencing bereavement and loss.
Anxiety can show up in many ways, persistent worry, racing thoughts, physical tension, panic, sleep difficulties, or a sense of feeling overwhelmed. Together, we can gently explore what may be driving these feelings, identify patterns, and develop coping strategies that feel realistic and empowering.
Grief is not a linear process, and it can affect every aspect of life, emotionally, physically and relationally. Whether you are grieving the death of a loved one, adjusting to a life-changing diagnosis, navigating sight loss, or experiencing another form of personal loss, I provide a space where your grief can be expressed without pressure or expectation. There is no “right” way to grieve, and I respect the individuality of each person’s experience.
I understand that seeking support can feel like a significant step, particularly during times of anxiety, grief or life change. My aim is to offer a steady, supportive presence where you feel heard, respected and understood. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, processing loss, or adjusting to change, I am here to walk alongside you and support you in making sense of your experience, finding stability, and reconnecting with your inner strength.
Why not contact me by email or phone to book a free 15-minute consultation and we can explore how we could work together?

Hello, I’m a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), offering a safe, compassionate space where you can talk openly and feel truly heard.
I have got 17 years of working with individuals (both adults and children) experiencing the emotional and psychological impact of sight loss—whether you are living with blindness, adjusting to a recent change in vision, or supporting someone close to you. I understand that sight loss can bring a complex mix of emotions: grief, uncertainty, frustration, isolation, and sometimes fear about the future. You do not have to navigate this alone.
My approach is warm, non-judgemental and tailored to you as an individual. I believe that every person’s experience of sight loss is unique, and I take time to understand your story, your challenges, and what matters most to you. Together, we can explore ways to make sense of your experiences, build resilience, and rediscover confidence and meaning in your life.
I offer counselling in a way that suits your needs and accessibility:
- Online sessions
- Telephone counselling
- Face-to-face appointments (where appropriate and venue completely accessible)
Whether you are newly experiencing sight loss or have been living with it for many years, therapy can provide a space to process change, strengthen coping strategies, and reconnect with a sense of self.
Taking the first step can feel difficult, but reaching out is a powerful act of self-care. I am here to listen, to support, and to walk alongside you at your pace.

I'm Astrid Coxon (PhD, MBPsS, MNCPS) and I'm a person-centred counsellor and psychologist. I offer both short and long-term therapy for adults, through one-to-one sessions, either face-to-face at my private practice or online via Zoom. Although many of the people I work with choose to have regular weekly sessions, I offer flexibility in session delivery - I appreciate that a regular weekly timeslot is not possible or preferable for everyone.
I have worked with clients from a broad range of backgrounds, exploring issues related to low mood, stress, sexuality, gender identity, neurodiversity, self-harm, perfectionism, relationships, chronic illness, and work conflict. I offer reduced fees for students or low-income.
I specialise in life transitions - perhaps you've had a life-changing diagnosis, relationship difficulties, or are considering making a significant career change. I'm interested in how we negotiate these transitions, exploring the decision-making process, and supporting clients at 'forks in the road.'

I'm Caroline, working online and by phone with people across the UK who are living with sight loss or low vision.
If your vision has changed - whether suddenly or gradually - you might be finding that while people focus on the practical side of things, there's less space to talk about the emotional impact. For many people there’s that great sense of loss, of fear about what comes next, and the feeling that others don't really get what you're going through.
As well as experience counselling visually impaired people, I have personal experience of eye health challenges and previously worked as a researcher with Guide Dogs, so I understand something of what it might be like for you. Above all, I know that what matters most is whether you feel comfortable talking with me and feel safe enough to voice what’s really on your mind. Clients say they find me to be kind, friendly, and easy to talk to - after a first session, they're often surprised by how much they've been able to share.
You don't have to moderate your feelings or edit your words - sessions are your space to be honest about how hard this is, without pressure to be positive or grateful.
I work flexibly around unpredictable health situations, so you don’t have to worry about making an appointment and not being well enough to keep it. You can see my availability and book a session if you’d like to at carolinemidmorecounselling.co.uk. You can also contact me through my website, or by phone, message or voicenote, however is easiest for you.

I offer a warm, welcoming, and confidential space where you will be listened to without judgement. As a Gestalt counsellor, I allow our sessions to be led by what feelings come up for you in the moment. I am committed to working alongside you, supporting you to explore your thoughts and feelings, but not telling you what to do.
Perhaps you've noticed a shift in your mood, or you've been feeling more anxious than usual. It may be that you're feeling 'stuck' in a relationship, job, or emotional space that is limiting your life. Or maybe you are coming to terms with an ending, a death, or a trauma. Whatever it is that you're facing, I will sit with you to listen, to support your process, and to offer reflections if you'd be open to them.
My practice is: anti-racist, LGBTQIA+ inclusive and GSRD (Gender, Sexual, and Relationship Diversity) inclusive.

In 2015 I was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa, and I felt my whole world stopped, to be honest it did. Life was uncertain and frightening and I had no idea what I needed, other than everything to go back to the day before the diagnosis.
Meeting with Sight loss nurses, social workers, attending the sensory centre in Camelon was all helpful but I did not see myself as blind - I could still see. All the practical support was there but the emotional support was lacking.
At the sensory centre I met with a lovely lady who had the same eye disease as me and it helped a little. At last I could talk to someone who could help me navigate life with RP, work considerations and supportive aids, but again it was mostly practical.
I needed someone who could understand my fear, my loss of confidence, the shadow of the person I became. Someone who could understand my fears around being a mum, losing my independence and my driving license and the emotional toll it would take on everyone around me, my children and my marriage. Thinking I could continue life the 'way it used to me before the diagnosis' burnt me out emotionally, physically and mentally.
My marriage broke down, I became a lone parent, I struggled financially, my fears and anxieties grew but I sought Counselling and in that space, being able to explore the impact of sight loss on my life completely transformed how I saw myself.
I am who I am meant to be - a strong, successful and compassionate human being. I live proudly with my sight loss but it has been a difficult journey and so, I want you to know that I understand, and I can help you navigate your difficulties and hopefully inspire you to find light in the darkness and accept this part of who you are.
If you, or someone you care about is struggling emotionally please do get in touch. I look forward to hearing from you and remember, the first step is always the hardest.

Integrative Psychotherapeutic counsellor
Counselling is about relationships with family, friends, colleagues and yourself. I create an environment where you are able to access and harness your own resources/strengths in a non-judgemental space to work towards your individual therapeutic goals. I will work alongside you and I am keen to understand your personal values whilst working with difficulties such as stuck patterns and developing an understanding of what is maintaining them. Therapy can encompass all as aspects of life, not just difficulties. My approach is LGBTQIA+ affirmative.
My approach
I am a relational humanistic therapist drawing from elements of the Person-Centred approach and uses different modalities, for example, Trauma Informed (grounding), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (changing response to emotions), Felt Sense (bodily awareness of sensations and emotions), Solution Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (creating safety) and Transactional Analysis (roles played in relationships). This means in your therapy, I provide a place to explore your individual life situations and difficulties. I work collaboratively within the realm of the client’s experience to provide the ability to unravel areas that are causing pain and discomfort. I offer Short –term (up to 6months) and long-term (6+ months) therapy which is negotiated with you.
You may find yourself stuck in patterns of denial, escapism or obsessive thinking as a response to your emotions. This can lead you to experience psychological distress such as, anxiety, depression, stress or tension. Despite longing to change, people can remain in these distressing and confusing states for significant periods of time. Learning to interpret and be more in touch with our felt sense (emotions and feelings) and understand the root causes can offer you insight into finding ways to understand your own needs and process how these can influence your life choices.
Previous Experience and work patterns
I have worked in private practice for the past 8 years working with many presentations, including anxiety, bereavement in many forms, CPTSD, depression, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem and gender identity. Alongside this, I am counsellor to students in both Further and Higher Education. Prior to training as a psychotherapist, I was a lecturer for 15 years teaching Sport and Social Psychology to young people and adults. In both roles I have developed and delivered psycho-educative workshops covering topics such as ‘Coping with Change’, ‘Self-worth’, ‘Reducing Anxiety’ and ‘Improving relationships.

Hi, my name is Emma, I am a senior accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work within their ethical and professional framework. The people closest to us can find it hard to be impartial and want to rescue us from our discomfort, often providing us with what we ‘should’ or ‘ought’ to do. Counselling is different. We will work collaboratively to explore the root cause of the difficulties you are facing. You will be in control of your journey, and we will work at your pace. I will work through your emotions and thought processes with you, allowing you the space to process how you are feeling. My role is to help you expand your awareness and better understand yourself, enabling you to move forwards towards a more fulfilling life. I am qualified to work with adults, children, young people and couples.

As a blind psychotherapist, I know from firsthand experience that sight loss can look like many different things. Sometimes it looks like sadness and struggle, wishing things were different. Sometimes it looks like bravery and boldness, pushing away any implications of difference. Sometimes it looks like change and uncertainty, wondering what’s next with no answers.
I know this because I have seen my own sight loss through all of these lenses and more. I’ve also seen it from the perspective of those who love me. My parents, who would do anything to see me smile, while not considering that they might need support too. My fully sighted brother, who invalidated his own struggles growing up, because they seemed insignificant in comparison to mine. My childhood friends, who never quite knew how to talk to me about what I was going through, even though they wanted to support me.
These are stories I have heard mirrored by my clients and their loved ones many times and maybe they sound familiar to you. If so, by working together in a safe, confidential space, we can start to explore your own stories. You will get to know yourself and those around you better, making sense of your emotions and building confidence in yourself and your ability to face life’s challenges.
Because when you feel seen, you can start to see the whole world differently.

My mode of therapy is psychodynamic, based on Freudian psychoanalysis focused on Freudian theory. Here, Freud’s basic, central, premise was his view of the mind. Freud’s belief intimated that some of what we experience on a day-to-day basis e.g. emotions, beliefs and impulses; takes place in the unconscious and is not available to the conscious mind. He also used the concept of repression to demonstrate that although an individual may not remember a (traumatic) event happening to them, the memory is locked away in the unconscious. However, the memory remains in the unconscious and can reappear in consciousness under certain circumstances, (e.g. times of high stress), causing problems for us even in the unconscious. Similarly, my belief, is that the unconscious mind governs behaviour to a much greater degree than people suspect. My therapy involves deep exploration of clients’ past to access, and understand, the root cause of their problems

My Person-Centred approach is collaborative and flexible, and aims to give you a safe space where you can work at your own pace. With a gentle curiosity we can explore those parts of your world that are challenging or preventing you living your best life.
My specialism is working with issues related to loss or anticipated loss. The burden of carrying losses can be underestimated as they can be subtle. Although uncomfortable, they are tolerable. However, a life transition or a significant event can trigger these losses and create a sense of overwhelm, isolation, anxiety and/or depression. You are not alone. It is my privilege to ‘walk’ by your side with compassion, non-judgement, empathy, genuine kindness, integrity and intuition.

I have 16 years of experience working in various modes of therapy. My first career was as a primary school teacher, specialising in music, which led me to train as a Music Therapist with Nordoff-Robbins. I quickly discovered that mental health was the area in which I felt most at home and to further my therapeutic practice, I trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), qualifying in 2016.
While practising CBT I discovered that trauma was at the root of many people’s issues. This led me to train in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR) and I have been able to help many people using this technique. Eye movements are not essential for this therapy to work, and it can be adapted using tapping and other forms of bilateral stimulation.
I have experience working with adults who have diagnosed or suspected autism and ADHD.
As a committed Christian I welcome people of all faiths and none.
Professional membership:
- Accredited EMDR practitioner with EMDR Europe
- Accredited CBT Therapist with the BABCP
- Registered Counsellor with ACC (Association of Christians in Counselling).

I am a therapist who works using Transactional Analysis, an approach I value for its clarity and accessibility. At the heart of my work is careful listening and a wish to understand the themes that shape your unique life story, explore what has brought you to therapy, and begin to make sense of the difficulties you are facing.
I work collaboratively, helping you explore how past experiences and relationships may have shaped your ways of coping in the present. Through curiosity, gentle enquiry, and careful challenge, we can begin to notice what no longer serves you and make sense of how these patterns developed. This creates space for new understanding and choice, often helping to reduce feelings of anxiety or overwhelm.
I believe deeply in the value of counselling, having experienced its benefits personally and witnessed how it can support people to find relief from distress, develop greater self-understanding, and build a kinder relationship with themselves. My aim is to offer a warm, professional, and ethical space where you can feel welcomed, respected, and taken seriously.

I am senior accredited with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and hold additional qualifications in Psychology, Health & Social Care, disability and Mental Health studies. In addition to specialist training, I have significant experience of working with clients affected by sight loss and the demands it can have on daily functioning and independent living. I am also informed by my own journey of sight loss which has given me some understanding of the emotional impact of such a significant change. I offer a confidential space to listen, accept and work with clients to find sources of support and strategies to help increase confidence and self esteem. I promote the idea that each client's experience is unique and while they cannot change what has happened to their sight, it may be possible to shape what happens next.

I am a qualified counsellor and hypnotherapist with experience supporting individuals as an RNIB sight loss volunteer counsellor. My work is grounded in empathy, understanding, and creating a safe, non-judgemental space where people can explore their thoughts and feelings openly.
Before training as a counsellor, I worked as a secondary school teacher for over 17 years. During that time, I supported young people of varying abilities, including neurodivergent students, and students with visual impairments which gave me a deep appreciation of the diverse ways people experience and navigate the world. This experience continues to inform my compassionate and flexible approach to counselling.
Through my work with individuals experiencing sight loss and visual impairment, I understand that the impact goes far beyond the physical loss of sight. Many people experience complex emotions such as grief, uncertainty, a loss of direction, or changes to their sense of identity when the future they once imagined begins to look different. I offer a supportive space where these feelings can be explored safely, at your own pace, and without judgement.
I also work with partners, family members, and loved ones of those experiencing sight loss or visual impairment. Changes in vision can affect relationships and family dynamics in many ways, and I provide a space where these challenges can be acknowledged, understood, and worked through with care and sensitivity.
My aim is to support people in making sense of what they are experiencing, helping them reconnect with their strengths and find a way forward that feels meaningful for them.

Before training formally and establishing Quest Counselling, I spent over two decades teaching and supporting people living with visual impairment and multiple disabilities.
I trained as an Integrative Counsellor through CPCAB (Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body) and I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
I work from a social model perspective — understanding that much of the difficulty of living with sight loss comes from living in a world that fails to accommodate it. I will not treat your disability as a tragedy or a problem to be overcome. I will treat you as a whole person, with a full and complex inner life, navigating real and significant challenges.
At the same time, I will not minimise the genuine pain and difficulty that disability can bring. Grief, anger, fear, exhaustion — these are real, and they deserve to be felt and expressed, not bypassed in the name of positivity or resilience.
I have particular experience with visual impairment and sight loss through my work counselling for the RNIB, and with the emotional impact of serious illness through my work at the Royal Marsden Hospital. I also have broad experience across physical disability, chronic illness, learning disability and neurodiversity.

I'm a pluralistic therapist with training in integrating CBT, TA, Gestalt, Psychodynamic, Expressive Arts Therapies and Ecotherapy into person-centred practice. I’ve worked as a counsellor since 2016. I’m experienced in working with a wide range of personal issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, bereavement, loss, loneliness, gender/sex/relationship diversity, neurodiversity, relationships, sexual violence, identity, menopause, ageing, trauma, abuse, and spirituality. I welcome short- and longer-term work with adults and young people.
Whether you’re losing you sight or have been blind since birth I’m aware that your sensory differences will have unique implications for the way we work together, so right from our initial contact, your feedback is welcome and important to help us connect and attune. I can be reached by phone, text, email and will provide information in the format you need. Sessions can be held in person at accessible premises in Denbighshire, and remotely over the phone or by video-link.
I’ll collaborate to develop a way of working together to suit. Simply talking with a therapist who offers a warm and accepting presence may be enough, but I'm also resourced with a variety of other expressive media for you to experiment with if you choose. There’s an open invitation to work with writing, sand, clay, natural materials, images, somatic techniques, movement, and sound to explore experiences, process feelings and self-reflect without judgment.
For those who prefer the outdoors, I’m skilled in ecotherapy. My approach to this is about respecting and including Nature as second therapist to restore connection and balance between mind, body, emotion and the environment. Attending to landscapes, weather and life forms enriches and inspires our time together, awakening the senses and the spirit to what life offers.

Before becoming a counsellor, I spent over a decade working on mental health helplines, where brief but meaningful conversations sparked my wish to support deeper, lasting change. I’ve long been drawn to relational roles, beginning with YouthNet in the late 2000s, supporting young people facing mental health challenges and the pressures of early adulthood.
I now work in private practice as a blind counsellor and an RNIB-accredited sight loss counsellor.
My work is grounded in extensive professional training, experience, and clear boundaries. Being blind also means I understand how sight loss can affect confidence, identity, relationships, and everyday independence.
I work with adults, young people aged 15 and over, and people in couple relationships. If you’re adjusting to sight loss, we can explore together the emotional and relational changes which often follow. I know how isolating this experience can feel, and how important it is to have a space based on respect, clarity, and shared understanding. My work values openness and honesty, making room for resilience, connection, and new ways forward. You don’t have to navigate this alone.

About me
I am an accredited psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience working with individuals facing a broad range of emotional, psychological and physical challenges. My approach integrates psychodynamic and analytic perspectives, with a particular focus on the connection between psychosomatic symptoms, anxiety, and relationship difficulties.
I am interested in how people deal with major life transitions such as early life trauma and shifting personal identities. I pay close attention to how experiences from the past may repeat themselves including physical and psychosomatic symptoms and relational patterns. I explore how evolving aspects of identity interact with both internal conflicts and external difficulties and expectations.
My aim is to provide a thoughtful, empathic space in which these complex layers can be understood and worked through in depth with such issues as anxiety, depression and mind body connection.

I am a BACP Accredited counsellor and supervisor who has over 20 years' experience working in the field of sight loss. I understand that for many it is important to speak with someone who has professional counselling experience and a genuine understanding of the impact sight loss can have on every day life.
Being diagnosed with a sight condition can feel devastating and many people describe the experience as similar to a bereavement.
I offer a safe, confidential space where you can talk openly about how you are feeling and begin to make sense of the emotional impact. Alongside providing therapeutic support, I also have experience of the practical challenges that sight loss can bring. My aim is to help navigate your way to a place that feels less fearful, where you can regain a sense of control and build resilience for the future.

A warm welcome to you, and thank you for taking the time to read my profile. Losing your sight can bring profound emotional and psychological changes. You may feel stressed or anxious, experience low mood or depression, or, struggle with feelings of loss, grief or anger. It’s also common to feel a loss of confidence or a sense that you are not coping. These experiences can deeply affect your relationship with yourself. As well as with family, friends and your wider community.
Following my own experience of sight loss, I embarked on my counselling training, and I remain passionate about supporting others through these challenging times
I qualified as a counsellor in 2007 and I am a BACP accredited practitioner.
I live and work on the Kent coast, offering counselling to adults and couples in person, by telephone and online. In addition, I work as a supervisor overseeing the work of other therapists, facilitate groups and deliver training.
I have extensive experience providing both short term and long-term counselling within sight loss charities, the NHS and private practice at various stages of my career.
I have also been the proud mum of 2 guide dogs and when not working, I enjoy a good movie and discovering new and interesting places.

My passion really is about providing a safe space for people to feel heard, believed and understood. The magic of listening and truly being fully present with a client, allows me to see the fog lift for so many clients and allows them to rediscover themselves again. I have experience working with clients with ADHD and Autism, exploring how this impacts them and their lives but also working to find the positives this brings to their life. I also have experience working with chronic illness, exploring what the condition is like for the client as every individual is unique. I set up privately to be able to provide longer term support for clients allowing time to build a trusting relationship in which a client can work through things at their own pace, this is particularly useful when trauma and shame have been experienced by the client.

I experienced counselling myself as a young person. This for me was life-changing. Ever since, I have been on a mission to make sure young people don’t go through the same challenges that I went through and feel alone. I understand how important it is to find a therapist you feel comfortable with, which is why I offer a free initial telephone consultation. I offer a warm, compassionate and confidential approach for you to explore and process life events. I can provide you with a safe place to offload, find coping strategies, and help you gain fresh insight into whatever you are dealing with. I am a highly qualified, experienced, BACP Accredited counsellor and clinical supervisor, working successfully with children and young people (aged 8+) and also adults; with challenges such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, self-harm, relationship, family issues and bereavement.

Golowhe is a Cornish word meaning ‘to glow’, ‘to light up’, ‘to illuminate’, ‘to shine’… I believe we all have the ability to shine, and sometimes we need support to find the light again in the darkness.

Supporting emotional wellbeing, confidence, and independence when sight loss changes life.
I am a BACP-accredited counsellor with nine years’ experience supporting people with a wide range of emotional and mental health concerns, including those adjusting to sight loss. I work with people who are newly sight-impaired and those living with long-term visual impairment. I offer space to explore how sight loss can affect daily life, confidence, relationships, identity, and independence.
I also support clients with anxiety, grief, low mood, trauma, and major life changes. I work in a calm, compassionate, and confidential way. Sessions move at the client’s pace and focus on strengths, choice, and what helps them move forward.
I am mindful of culture, background, faith, and lived experience, and I work in a respectful and inclusive way. Counselling is available online and by telephone.

My name is Zainab, and I am an integrative counsellor offering online and telephone sessions.
Born with partial vision and later diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP), my lived experience has shaped the empathy and understanding I bring to my work. I recognise the courage it takes to navigate life’s challenges and aim to provide a safe, compassionate space for exploration and growth.
My approach is holistic, integrating a bio-psycho-social-spiritual model. I believe in supporting the whole person — mind, body, relationships, and spirit — and walking alongside clients as they move towards healing and greater self-awareness.
Outside of my practice, I find peace in nature, where the sounds of the natural world offer a sense of calmness.
