We deliver training and professional development opportunities to health and social care professionals.

Training helps increase awareness and understanding of sight loss whilst ensuring staff have the necessary tools and knowledge to offer the best possible personalised care and support.

Our courses are externally evaluated and endorsed by Skills for Care. We also offer a number of CPD accredited courses.

We offer a range of courses on sight loss, and specialise in training for professionals working with older people or those with complex needs.

Our courses can be delivered online, or in-house at your organisation and can be adapted to a time frame best for you.

Bespoke training

This can be designed and delivered to meet your team's needs or an individual service user’s requirement. As well as tailoring content for the session, we can offer vision and autism or vision and stroke training.

Free online resources

We provide a range of free online resources to support your self-directed learning. There are top tip cards, good practice guides, podcasts and booklets relating to sight loss and older people, learning disabilities and complex needs. Open Badges

We offer a range of free digital badges which you can use as evidence of self-directed or informal learning using our resources. We have a selection on the Scottish Social Services Council website: – search for Royal National Institute of Blind People in the list of issuers.
