Would you like to help improve access for people with sight loss to enjoy York Museums? We need an administrator to get involved in this exciting project. You would be contacting participants, collating their individual requirements, gathering evaluations and supporting the production of the evaluation report. You will also have the opportunity to attend the museums during the evaluation weeks.
Are you friendly and outgoing? We need you to visit local shops, pubs and leisure centres to pick up our full Sooty collection boxes, replace them with new boxes, count the money that has been kindly donated by the public and take the money to the bank.
Due to insurance requirements, you must be aged 18 or over to do this role.
Can you spare a few hours and join us at our fun and sociable Christmas collections where we are raising money to support people with sight loss? You can volunteer at one of our many events from supporting with collections to carol singing.
Due to insurance requirements, you must be aged 18 to collect, but Carol Singers of all ages are welcome.

Volunteers are needed in a number of locations from late November through December in Newmarket,Stonam Aspal,Peterborough,Norwich,Ipswich and Cambridge.
Do you enjoy speaking to people and working with computers? Are you organised? You could support our Confidence Building courses. You would assist with updating records, course promotion, contacting customers, creating registers and course evaluations. You would be working within a dedicated team, passionate about improving the lives of sight impaired people.
Are you friendly and caring? Can you be the first point of contact for people affected by sight loss to provide support, impartial information and guidance to within an outreach clinic setting? You will need to have the confidence to speak to a wide range of people and establish good relationships with clinical staff and healthcare professionals. Eye Clinic volunteers must be over 18 years.
Do you enjoy interacting with children? This is a unique opportunity to work with children with sight loss (aged 8-17) and their families. You will be assisting with day events. You will be helping with a range of activities including sports, music, visits to attractions and crafts, supporting both the group and individuals as required.
Additional Location Information
We are looking for volunteers to support at events in Nottinghamshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and Swindon. The events last between 3 - 7 hours
