RNIB Scotland social and leisure groups

RNIB Scotland keeps people connected in many ways.

Many of the social and leisure groups started under RNIB's connect initiative and are continuing to run by phone or social media. They're free and open to anyone with sight loss.

Monday

4pm – Film Club - similar to a book club but with movies! A different selection of films each week, chosen by the group. If you like to talk about movies, then this one is for you.

Tuesday

11am – General chat - talk about whatever comes to mind. From small talk to big conversations, you're free to discuss almost anything and everything.

Wednesday

11am – Campaigns call – discussion about the hot topics affecting blind and partially sighted people. All you need to "bring along" is your thoughts.

3pm – Glasgow East End chat - Like-minded people from the city's East End chatting about all sorts. Why not join us for a blether?

3pm – Connect Community Choir - who wants to sing in the rain when you can sing along at home on the telephone? Come join our choir …

Thursday

11am – General chat - talk about whatever comes to mind. From small talk to big conversations, you're free to discuss almost anything and everything.

3pm – Forth Valley group - a group for people who live in the Forth Valley area. Like all our groups, we openly welcome newcomers.

Friday

4pm – Hamilton Social group - friendly chat with other visually impaired people from in and around Hamilton.

8pm – Virtual pub quiz- Quiz Queen Jane rocks the virtual pub quiz every Friday, bringing together members to enjoy two rounds of general knowledge and music questions.  

Saturday

11am – Football Focus - whether you are missing the regular football season, or relieved it's over, this is a chance for you to get your footy fix for the week. Tell the group about favourite games, teams, and players with other visually impaired people from across Scotland. All teams welcome, we don’t judge!

  • There are also Book Groups in Prestwick and Troon, which meet monthly.

Our telephone groups are welcoming new members, so don’t be shy, join in and meet some great new people!
