RNIB statement on the cancellation of Double Dash 2020

Alex McDowell, Head of Public Fundraising at RNIB, said:

“We are sorry to confirm that due to the ongoing global pandemic, we have made the difficult decision to cancel RNIB Double Dash 2020.

“Although we are disappointed to cancel the event, we have done so based on the latest guidance and information to ensure the safety of everyone involved.

“We are so grateful to everyone who has been training hard and fundraising to take part in Double Dash, an event which stands for inclusion and accessibility for all. We hope to continue working with every member of Team RNIB as we work towards smashing the barriers facing blind and partially sighted people across the UK.”

About RNIB

We are the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB).

Every six minutes, someone in the UK begins to lose their sight. RNIB is taking a stand against exclusion, inequality and isolation to create a world without barriers where people with sight loss can lead full lives. A different world where society values blind and partially sighted people not for the disabilities they’ve overcome, but for the people they are.

RNIB. See differently.
