Stephen Weymouth, RNIB Network Manager for the South West, said:
“Following a constructive meeting with Vision West of England (VWE) we have decided to seek an accessible office space in central Bristol to accommodate staff from both organisations and RNIB’s property team have already begun the search.
“Working together we will be looking for a suitable location which provides a safe and accessible space for blind and partially sighted people to meet for social events, training and other activities, as well as providing advice and information and a place where people can try out and buy products and technology. Whilst offering all of these things, our new premises must also be affordable and offer value for money so that we can maximise resources and ultimately support more blind and partially sighted people, both now and in the future.”
RNIB and VWE will continue to engage blind and partially sighted people in the Bristol area through the Locations Working Group. For further information or to share your views, please email [email protected].
