The course is part of our Living Well with Sight Loss series and it’s designed to give you the space to learn about and discuss some of the important questions that you might have about raising a child who is blind or partially sighted.
Run as small group sessions online, you’ll learn about a range of relevant topics, from early support around your child’s diagnosis to education and how to access specialist support for your child. Other topics include information about welfare benefits as well as the importance of play and social development for children with VI.
Parents will be able to meet and share experiences in a safe and supportive environment. After completion of the course, you will be offered the opportunity for a one-to-one discussion with your local RNIB Family Support Officer to discuss your individual situation and any additional support you might need.
An accompanying Parent Pack workbook will be provided to record any useful information from the course.
This online course will run every Wednesday for six weeks from 5 May to 9 June 2021, from 7pm – 8.30pm.
