See Work Differently Placement programme
Two women sat side by side on a red sofa are reading a document together, they also have a laptop open in front of them. The woman on the right is wearing a hijab.
The See Work Differently Placement programme gives people with sight loss the chance to gain real work experience with supportive employers.
A placement can help you build confidence, develop new skills and take meaningful steps towards employment. For now, placements are offered across RNIB teams and are a practical way for us to bring our mission to life, opening doors and creating opportunities that change futures.
Each placement is tailored to the individual, with RNIB providing guidance, workplace adjustments and ongoing support to make sure the experience is positive and accessible. For many people, it’s a valuable stepping stone into employment — helping them strengthen their CV, grow their independence and feel more prepared to move into or back into the world of work.
Moving forward, we expect to offer external employers the opportunity to host placements. This will allow them to benefit from learning how to create more inclusive workplaces while discovering the talent and potential of employees with sight loss.
The programme opens doors, builds confidence and helps people with sight loss move closer to the jobs and futures they want.
