The Curriculum Framework for Children and Young People with Vision Impairment (CFVI) has been developed in collaboration with those working in the field of vision impairment education across the four UK nations, to support children and young people with vision impairment access an appropriate and equitable education.

The framework 2025

The 2025 Revised Edition of the CFVI arose from work with the field of vision impairment education. There are some relatively small changes from CFVI 2022. The overarching principles and language of the CFVI remain the same. The CFVI is still divided into eleven areas, each of which has the same title as the original edition: this updated edition is therefore similar to the original version. However, some further examples and clarifications have been added, and the diagram representing the eleven areas has been changed to represent the underpinning and overarching nature of Area 1:these changes are summarised in the document “CFVI 2025 Overview of Amendments”.
