Training for health and social care professionals
We support people working in health and social care to provide better care for people with sight loss.
Our training builds awareness, increases understanding of sight loss and gives staff the skills they need to offer the best possible personalised care and support.
Sight loss is a lot more common among people with complex needs and can easily be missed. People with learning disabilities are 10 times more likely to experience sight loss than the general population, and rates are also higher among people living with dementia, especially in care homes.
That’s why our training is essential, not just for sight loss, but for anyone supporting someone with complex needs. Our training helps staff to spot the early signs of sight loss and make sure people get the eye care and support they need.
