Our RNIB Community Living Service in Surrey provides residential care and supported living for adults aged 18 to 65 years who are blind or partially sighted with additional needs and disabilities.
We’ve recently started an exciting redevelopment in Redhill to build new homes and apartments. The new site will be fully accessible for people with sight loss. It will include a hub with training rooms and community amenities. Our new facilities should be ready in late 2020.
We aim to develop the skills of our residents and promote independence in any way and at any level. We promote positive outcomes and achievable realistic goals.
"I like everything about living here. The support I get is grand. I feel great about the staff, I like all of them." - Ben Timberlake, resident.
We’re looking to increase our team of social care Support Workers helping people with sight loss and complex needs to live more independently, like Ben. Find out more about Jobs with our Community Living Service.
All of our services are registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC). From 2014 to 2017 our service sat within a subsidiary of RNIB, named RNIB Charity. RNIB is in the process of restructuring to create a leaner, more efficient governance structure to equip us to deliver excellent services for blind and partially sighted people in years to come. As part of this process, in September 2017 we re-registered our activities which are regulated by the CQC from RNIB Charity to RNIB. We are in the process of re-registering our activities with Ofsted and the Care Inspectorate in Scotland. Once these processes are complete the legal transfer of all people, activities, assets and liabilities from RNIB Charity to RNIB will take place.
