Elin Williams

Elin reflects on her time she worked for RNIB.

I worked for RNIB as a Trainee Community Development Assistant for a year as part of the Trainee Grade Scheme. This experience was invaluable to me. It allowed me to develop my skills, as well as giving me the opportunity to gain new ones. I learnt so much about how a charity works and how to provide vital services for blind and partially sighted people. I had the chance to express some of the things I’m passionate about, helping others being just one of them. It’s amazing that this scheme is available to visually impaired people, as it allows us to get a taste of the world of work, gain new skills, help others, meet new people and earn some money. I had many responsibilities within my role, all of which contributed to the invaluable skills I have today.
