coffee morning

Marilyn talks about finding her voice to speak out about issues that people with sight loss face.

I first joined RNIB when I was invited to a coffee morning. From this, I was asked to go to the First Standards for Sensory Loss meetings to speak about issues that people with sight loss face. I felt it was extremely important to go, but I didn’t have a lot of confidence. After a few meetings I really found my voice and now I really enjoy going to meetings and voicing my concerns about issues in and around Cardiff. I’ve more recently been involved in meetings about the new Cardiff bus station. I hope by raising these concerns, I can help change things for the better for other people like me with sight loss.
