Join our campaign, turn your pictures upside down

To help launch our #WorldUpsideDown campaign on the 6 July, we are asking you to join us in sharing an upside down image on your social media channels.

What you can do:

  • Turn your profile picture upside down
  • Post an image on your feed which is either upside down or shows something upside down.
  • Use our #WorldUpsideDown frame on Facebook

Just make sure to include the hashtag #WorldUpsideDown in your caption.

How to rotate your social profile picture – assistive technology instructions

On your mobile Facebook app:

  1. Go to your profile page and open the ‘profile tools’ button next to the ‘add story’ button.
  2. Use the ‘Edit Profile’ button. Move to the ‘Profile picture’ heading and use the ‘Edit’ button.
  3. Navigate and action the ‘Select profile picture or video’.
  4. Select your preferred picture from your gallery. After selecting the image you will be taken to the ‘Profile picture’ page. Navigate to and activate the ‘Edit’ button, this can be found before the ‘Frame’ button and the unlabelled button.
  5. The Crop & rotate page will be in view. Find the ‘rotate anticlockwise by 90 degrees’ button. Action this button two times to turn the image upside down. Find and action the ‘Done’ button. Now you will be on the ‘Profile picture’ page. Navigate through the page to find the ‘say something about your Profile picture’ form field. Add #WorldUpsideDown and anything else you’d like to say and then find and action the ‘save’  button.

Alternatively you can take a photo with your phone, go to the gallery, find and action the ‘edit’ button and rotate the image before you upload to Facebook.

How to add the #WorldUpsideDown frame - assistive technology users

Once you’ve flipped your picture you can also add the RNIB #WorldUpsideDown social frame. To do this:

  1. Go to your profile page and go to profile tools. Find and use the ‘add frame’ or the ‘Frames’ button.
  2. Move to the search bar and type in ‘RNIB WorldUpsideDown’ . Find and select the ‘RNIB WorldUpsideDown’ frame from the menu.

 

How to rotate your social profile picture

On your mobile Facebook app:

  • Go to your profile page and click the three dots next to the ‘add story’ button.
  • Click ‘Edit Profile’. Your current profile picture will appear. Click the ‘Edit’ button in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
  • Click ‘Select profile picture or video’.
  • Select your preferred picture from your gallery. The image will come up in a circle. Click ‘Edit’ on the bottom left on the image.
  • A box will appear with an arrow over the top below the picture. Click this box twice. Once complete click ‘Done’ in the top right of the screen. You will be given the option to ‘say something about your Profile picture’. Add #WorldUpsideDown and anything else you’d like to say and then click ‘save’ in the top right of the screen.

Alternatively, you can take a photo with your phone, go to the gallery, click ‘edit’ and rotate the image before you upload to Facebook.

How to add the #WorldUpsideDown frame

Once you’ve flipped your picture you can add the RNIB #WorldUpsideDown social frame. To do this:

  • Go to your profile page and click on your profile. Click ‘add frame’ in the menu that pops up.
  • Type ‘RNIB WorldUpsideDown’ into the search bar and select the ‘RNIB WorldUpsideDown’ frame from the menu.
