Ollie Thomas shares his experience volunteering with RNIB

Ollie Thomas, age 25 (as of November 2022), completed the Vision Awards Programme with RNIB as a volunteer and has enjoyed checking and editing transcriptions for Talking Books. Ollie has found his time with RNIB invaluable - volunteering has developed his skills, experience and understanding of living with sight loss and has enhanced his life.

Bryan McMaster shares his volunteering story

Bryan McMaster, age 33, has been blind since birth. He lives in Lisburn, Northern Ireland. Bryan started volunteering with RNIB last year, supporting the Facebook Connect group for Northern Ireland. He previously volunteered for The Cedar Foundation, after having struggled to get employment.

Hazel Hyland shares her volunteering story

Hazel Hyland, age 44 has been blind since birth and is based in Newcastle. Hazel has been volunteering for 30 years and she shared her story while volunteering for the Campaigns team and Talk and Support. We are delighted that since sharing her story, Hazel has now secured an employed role at RNIB and has joined the Community Connection North East team as a Community Connection Coordinator.
