RNIB parliamentary event alerts MPs to need for urgent action on cost of living

RNIB held a parliamentary drop-in event on 24 April that attracted MPs from across the House. Just under 60 MPs attended, or were represented by staff, including: Tom Pursglove MP, Minister for Disabled People; Stephen Timms MP, Chair of the Work and Pensions Select Committee; and Justin Madders MP, Shadow Minister for Employment Rights and Protections.

RNIB responds to Ofcom’s work plan 2023/2024

RNIB has pushed Ofcom to start looking at the accessibility of Gaming and the Metaverse in their plan for next year. We have also stressed that the work on affordability of communication services needs to consider blind and partially sighted people.

RNIB welcomes Network Rail commitment to install tactile paving at all rail stations within two years

Network Rail has pledged to install tactile paving on all rail platforms in Britain by 2025. This news follows RNIB’s #RailSafe campaign after the tragic death of Cleveland Gervais, a partially sighted man who fell from a platform without tactile paving in 2020.
