Falkirk MP visits RNIB Scotland's award-winning youth forum
Haggeye, which is run by RNIB Scotland, meets regularly to discuss important issues that are relevant to the group as well as hosting informative workshops. The group enables young blind and partially sighted people to campaign for change, influence the provision of services, meet new people and make new friends as well as discuss and share issues of concern with them.
RNIB disappointed by Chancellor’s Autumn Statement
We are disappointed that key elements which could have addressed the additional costs of sight loss faced by blind and partially sighted people were missing from today’s Autumn Statement by the Chancellor. Additionally, as the Chancellor outlined the UK Government’s tax and spending plans for the next year, plans to tighten health-related benefits have caused alarm among blind and partially sighted people.
2023: A year of volunteering with RNIB
Volunteering with RNIB makes a difference in the lives of blind and partially sighted people every year. 2023 is no different. Over 3,300 volunteers supported RNIB throughout the last financial year, including 996 people with lived experience of sight loss. No matter how much or how little time people have to gift, we value each and every volunteer’s contribution through delivering services, campaigning for change, raising funds, sharing lived experience, governing our charity and so much more.
