Services we offer in Edinburgh and the Lothians

RNIB Edinburgh and Lothians is the part of RNIB Scotland that provides specific local services to people with sight loss who live in Edinburgh, West Lothian, Midlothian and East Lothian.

RNIB Scotland's main office at 12-14 Hillside Crescent, Edinburgh is for the time being closed to the public. Please note, there are no staff on reception to take calls after the Duty System is closed and all calls will go via the RNIB Helpline.

Our Duty System remains in place and contact can be made on 0131 652 3140 on Monday to Friday, between 9am until 12 noon. This is for anyone wishing to make a referral for Rehabilitation / Mobility service, make a Low Vision Assessment appointment, Social Work referral, or general enquires in respect of our service.

However, our staff will not be undertaking any home-visits unless these are clearly identified as an emergency.

Our Eye Clinic Liaison Officer service, which offers advice and reassurance to people diagnosed with sight loss, is still available by telephone and email on Monday to Thursday between 9am - 4.45pm, and on Friday from 9am - 4.30pm:

Nicola Grimason, telephone 07802 865 585 and email [email protected].

Jo Hill, telephone 07796 335 877 and email [email protected].

Emma McElwee, telephone 07395 285 357 and email [email protected].

Our Resource Centre is also closed but products can still be purchased online at  https://www.rnib.org.uk/advice/technology-useful-products/stores.

Our Connect Café is closed for the time being.
